ARROW Concentrated Brine Pond

A senior design and certification company sought assistance installing a large-scale geosynthetic liner system for the ARROW Concentrated Brine Pond project. This project was not only critical in terms of its size, but also held the distinction of being the largest brine storage facility in the southern hemisphere. Ensuring the integrity of the liner system was paramount to prevent environmental contamination and ensure the longevity of the pond.

In response to this challenge, the design and certification company engaged GeoQ for our expertise in geosynthetic supervision CQA and Electrical Leak Detection services throughout the project’s construction and commissioning phase. We utilised continuous Arc and Dipole testing methods, acclaimed for their accuracy in pinpointing leaks in expansive geosynthetic installations. The technical proficiency of our team ensured comprehensive quality control, verifying the dependability of the geosynthetic liners across the entire site.

The partnership with us culminated in outstanding outcomes for the ARROW Concentrated Brine Pond project, including the installation of over 1,000,000m² of conductive HDPE, GCL and Geocomposite materials. The exhaustive geosynthetic supervision and Electrical Leak Detection ensured adherence to the most stringent quality and reliability standards. By promptly identifying and addressing any potential issues, the structural integrity of the liner system was confirmed.

  • Assured over 1,000,000m² of liner quality to create the largest brine pond in the southern hemisphere
  • Arc testing and Dipole testing over 3-year duration through project construction and commissioning
