The Challenge

Glencore faced the challenge of ensuring the absolute quality and integrity of over ~900,000m² of Bituminous Liner Material (BGM) destined for a significant mining resource management project. The project demanded precise manufacturing and installation standards to meet the robust environmental and operational demands.

Our Solution

GeoQ was engaged to provide a comprehensive solution encompassing in-factory auditing and manufacturing oversight in Europe. Our role expanded to include meticulous Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) supervision, ensuring that every square metre of the BGM met stringent quality standards. Alongside this, we implemented air lance testing and Construction Quality Control (CQC) data collection. Our specialised team also conducted Electrical Leak Detection to identify and remedy any potential imperfections, safeguarding the integrity of the installation process.

Through our intensive oversight and quality control processes, the BGM installation project met and exceeded Glencore’s requirements for quality and integrity. The implementation of our rigorous CQA and CQC protocols ensured that the Bituminous Liner Material was manufactured and installed to the highest standards, ready for the demands of the mining resource management sector.
